Welcome to the May edition

Many things have happened since our previous Newsletter.

Firstly, our thoughts are with those of you with relatives or friends involved in the recent Australian floods, earthquake disasters in New Zealand, Japan, Thailand or the conflicts in the Middle East. It is indeed an unsettling time. As you go forward in 2011 it comforting to know you are making a positive contribution to the lives of many people just by doing what you do on a daily basis. We are grateful to play even a small role in assisting you with your skin cancer education needs so you can continue to assist others with your expertise.

The first Monash Office Procedures Workshop received high praise from delegates so please don’t miss the opportunity to attend the next course being held in July. Photos are available for viewing in the GPhighlights section.

Seats sold out quickly for the February University of Queensland skin cancer courses in Melbourne. With 151 doctors in attendance, the venue was buzzing with enthusiastic learning and delegate interaction. The overall course satisfaction rates were again very pleasing – Medicine 94%, Advanced Surgery 90%, Surgery 91%. Colleague referrals for the Medicine course are now averaging an all time high of 57% so many thanks to all of you who have spread the word about your very positive experience.

By now you should have received an email regarding the release of our NEW UQ course – the Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine 2. This course was designed and based on your feedback and will be presented in Brisbane 30-31 July. For more details or to enrol in this beneficial addition to the current courses, please contact our HealthCert team on 07 3137 1399.

The UQ Hamilton Island Skin Cancer Conference is filling quickly so again, please take the opportunity to learn from and interact with 15 world leading presenters. Why not treat yourself and your family to a well deserved holiday at the same time in tropical paradise?

Kind regards until next time

Paul Elmslie
